Sergio Rippa was only a 14 year old boy when he walked into the famous Baci di Dama shop in Tortona. Enthralled by the masterpiece of confectionary, he began his tutelage using the forms, molds, copper pots that formed the passion of this profession. In 1958, alongside his brother, Marco, he began the pasticceria Rippa in Sale, adhering to the traditions he learnt from the little shop in Tortona.
Fast-forward 50 years to the present, where Rippa are widely recognised to be one of the foremost producers of Baci di Dama and Amaretti in Italy.
