Caramelle are small, filled pastas which are shaped into tubes or cylinders, almost like mini cannelloni, but with twisted ends. In many ways they look like wrapped sweets and are equally moreish, especially with the great range of fillings that can be chosen. They are served as popular brunch items in both Parma and Piacenza.
