Originally from Bologna, legend has it that when the goddess Venus stayed in a tavern on the outskirts of the city, the innkeeper spied on her through the keyhole of her room, but could catch only a glimpse of her belly button region. Mystified by this vision, the innkeeper shaped fresh egg pasta into the navel-sized tortellini.
Cook in salted, boiling water for 2-4 minutes
