Chestnut honey has very specific characteristics and properties. It is dark in color, has a strong smell of undergrowth, an intense flavour with a slightly bitter aftertaste. It is normally paired with cheeses, most notably spreadable cheeses like mascarpone and ricotta.
The Prunotto Mariangela organic farm is based in Alba, the capital of the hilly area of Langhe. It has been growing its own fruits and vegetables for over 20 years using organic methods that respect both nature and the consumer.
